Wild Cats — learning done your way

Terms of Service

Last reviewed: 2 July 2026

These terms are a first draft, written to be honest and readable rather than exhaustive. They haven't had a formal legal review yet — please don't treat them as final.

Who we are

Wild Cats (“we”, “us”) operates wildcats.school, an online marketplace connecting families in Scotland with independent tutors for National 5, Higher, Advanced Higher and CfE-level tutoring.

What the service is

We're a booking and payments layer over independent tutors — we don't employ tutors, and we don't deliver tuition ourselves. Every tutor on the platform is PVG-verified before they can be booked; see our safeguarding policy for what that means in practice.

Bookings and payments

Sessions are booked and paid for through the site, by card, via Stripe. Tutors set their own rate within published bands. You can cancel or move a session up to 24 hours before it starts at no charge; later changes may not be refundable, since the tutor has held that time for you.

Tutors are independent contractors

Tutors are self-employed and not our employees. We vet them (PVG, references, GTCS where claimed) and set the platform's code of practice, but the teaching relationship is between the tutor and the family.

Acceptable use

Sessions happen only through the platform's own video links — see safeguarding for why. Don't use the platform for anything unlawful, and don't attempt to take a tutor relationship off-platform to avoid fair use of the service.

Liability

We do our best to vet tutors thoroughly and keep the platform reliable, but we can't guarantee a particular tutor, teaching outcome, or exam result. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before a claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service develops. Meaningful changes will be announced, not made quietly.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland.
